Therapy

Individual therapy is one on one sessions in a confidential, safe, and supportive environment. Typically, individual therapy has a frequency of once a week with a 45 minutes session duration. Ideally, a specific day of the week and time that remains consistent over the course of treatment is reserved.  The length of individual therapy is determined by a number of different factors and can be discussed during the initial appointment.

When working with children in therapy, the initial appointment will be with parent(s) only so that paperwork and background information can be gathered.  The second session will be with parent(s) and the child.   Depending on the situation, family involvement and participation is an important and essential part in a child’s therapy process.  A treatment plan will be developed with all participants which will outline the therapeutic strategy for all involved.
